Strolling through a Wintery Park

Fevers and colds have struck our two eldest children forcing them to stay home from going to school.

In the now free time I have on my way to work created in the absence of the morning drop-off procedure, I took a quick yet cold stroll through a favorite park (one I've written about here before).

In an attempt to combine two lessons from a photography composition book (the use of lines and their relationship to emotions and trying to use distant focal objects to draw the viewer into the photograph), I endeavored to apply thoery in action. Here are some pictures taken during this lesson.

WOW! LOVE THESE - I gasped at the beauty of them all!!! LOVE the reflections in the smooth crystal clear water - wow - the clouds that look like an x in the bottom - you can't see the clouds that form that x in the sky, only in the reflection... wow! then the incredible reflection of the barn in the water - perfect!!! love them - amazing work!!!!!! :)

Mimi says these snowy river scenes remind me of the February we were in England, at Walton Hall. The River Dee ran alongside our 16th Century castle timeshare, and looked so magically like your photos herein. It was a day of three inches of snow in the English Midlands, all was closed down...but not us: we headed out to photograph the river with the snow. It was awesome to share with you, and equally awesome to be reminded of our trip to England by these photos. Great emotion, Jay.
